It was a weak day overall today. The major averages opened lower and and was down all day. Late weakness saw all the major averages finish at their lows of the session. The COMPQ was off by .61% while the SPY declined .49%. Volume was mixed, higher on the Nasd and lower on the New York. This was enough to produce distribution on the Nasd averages. Leading stocks had a negative day as well with the leaders index falling .99% on lower and very light volume. The index tagged it’s 9dma but is holding above it. The market continues to struggle and few stocks are producing worthwhile gains. Little will likely happen until next week when everyone is back to work, then we may get a better idea of where things are headed. In case I don’t get tomorrow’s update out before tomorrow night(which is probable) I want to wish everyone a happy New Year. Jerry
