The market had a mixed session today and closed little changed. The major averages opened higher, but mostly sold off from there. The NASD averages were the strongest with the COMPQ and the NDX higher by .12% and .76% respectively. The SPX was flat. The major averages finished in the middle to lower part of their intraday trading ranges. Volume was lower across the board. Leading stocks were moderately higher. The leaders index gained .33% on the day and closed in about the middle of its trading range. Volume was lower and below average. The market had a mixed session today with small changes in the major averages. It was a quiet day with lower volume on both exchanges. Market internals were negative. The market seems to be continuing the consolidation/pullback that it has been in. So far the action appears to be fairly constructive. The major averages have held up well while leading stocks took a bigger hit. It would be encouraging to see the leaders index break above its 17dma. Right now the rally appears to be on solid ground and riding the rally is the way to go. Jerry
