The market continued its overall positive action today. The market posted moderate gains today, but all the major averages finished at or near the top of their intraday trading ranges. All the major and secondary averages finished in new high ground on both a closing and an intraday trading basis. The gains were pretty evenly divided with the COMPQ and the NDX were higher by .34% and .42% respectively. The SPX rallied .37%. Volume was mixed. It rose 12.55% on the New York and fell 3.05%. Leading stocks were higher as well with the leaders index gaining .47%. The index closed high in its trading range on higher but still below average volume. The is a new high for the index. The rally continued today with the major averages and leading stocks posting moderate gains. For the fourth day in a row the major averages finished strong by closing near their highs. Leading stocks are acting generally pretty well and there is a fresh supply of breakouts on a continuing basis. The rally looks like it is on solid ground and barring any unforeseen events the action should be positive through the end of the year. Jerry
