The market put in a mildly positive session in quiet trading. After being higher most of the day a little late selling saw the major averages close in the lower portion of their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ was higher by .19% while the SPX gained .11%. Volume was very close to Friday’s levels on both exchanges but it looks like it was a bit lower. Leading stocks were slightly positive as well with the leaders index gaining .17% and closing just below the midpoint of its trading range. Volume on the leaders index was very light and well below average. The market seemed to be biding its time before the summit and the Fed meeting that begins tomorrow. Some late selling saw the major averages close low on the day, which looked like some market participants taking some gains before news tomorrow, but overall the picture still looks positive. Jerry
