The market put in a fairly quiet but also positive session today. After some early weakness the major averages were a bit higher during trading but there was a little late selling. The COMPQ was higher by .19% while the SPX was up by .08%. The Nasd averages closed in the upper half of their intraday trading ranges while the New York averages finished low in their trading ranges. Volume was slightly higher across the board. Leading stocks were generally higher as well with the leaders index gaining .58% The index closed in the upper half of its trading range and made new highs on both a closing and an intraday basis. Volume on the leaders index was much higher than yesterday and well above average. It is positive for quality growth stocks to make new highs on higher and very strong volume. The market took a bit of a break today but the action was still overall encouraging. The market held yesterday’s gains and even built on them a little. Leading stocks are beginning to show some gains as shown in the new highs in the leaders index. The major averages continue to work their way higher and there is volume coming in behind the price advances. The market looks like it is on track right now for higher prices in at least the short term . Jerry
